Focus and Scope
Journal of Islamic Studies in Education (JISE) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the study of Islamic education through innovative and transformative perspectives, employing interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches. The journal serves as a platform for publishing research findings, theoretical studies, and scientific discussions that contribute to the advancement of Islamic education scholarship, encompassing both formal and non-formal educational settings.
The scope of this journal includes, but is not limited to, the following thematic areas:
- Curriculum and instructional practices in Islamic education within formal and non-formal institutions
- Management and policy of Islamic education in madrasah and pesantren
- Innovation and transformation in Islamic education through technology and contemporary approaches
- Pesantren studies (Islamic boarding schools): systems, traditions, and reform
- Madrasah studies: institutional development, quality improvement, and relevance
- Islamic educational thought and philosophy
- Integration of Islamic and educational sciences in interdisciplinary perspectives
Scope Boundaries — Manuscript Eligibility:
Manuscripts eligible for submission must substantively address issues within the field of Islamic education, particularly in the context of madrasah, pesantren, and other Islamic educational institutions. The journal does not accept manuscripts outside the domain of Islamic education, including studies on Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), Islamic economics, or general Islamic studies that bear no direct relevance to educational practice or discourse. Accepted manuscript types include empirical research articles (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method), systematic literature reviews, and conceptual articles that demonstrate clear novelty and scholarly contribution.
