About the Journal
The Indonesian Journal of the Qur'an and Tafsir Studies (IJQTS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing scholarly research in Qur'anic studies, tafsir (exegesis), and related Islamic sciences. Published biannually, IJQTS serves as a platform for rigorous academic discourse, bringing together scholars, researchers, and practitioners from Indonesia and around the world.
IJQTS is committed to promoting high-quality research that explores the Qur'an from diverse methodological approaches, including traditional Islamic scholarship, contemporary hermeneutics, linguistic analysis, historical-critical methods, and interdisciplinary perspectives. The journal welcomes contributions that engage with classical tafsir literature as well as modern interpretative approaches relevant to contemporary Muslim societies.
As an Indonesian-based journal with an international outlook, IJQTS particularly encourages research that addresses the unique contexts of Southeast Asian Muslim communities while maintaining relevance to global Islamic scholarship. The journal accepts submissions in both English and Indonesian, fostering accessibility and inclusivity in academic discourse.
