Publication Ethics

JCIS adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and international standards on research and publication integrity.

Duties of Editors

• Make fair, unbiased publication decisions based solely on academic merit, free from commercial or personal considerations.
• Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and safeguard against conflicts of interest.
• Ensure a transparent, documented process for handling complaints, appeals, and allegations of misconduct.

Duties of Authors

• Submit only original work; disclose any prior or overlapping publication, including preprints.
• Accurately represent data and methodology, without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
• Properly cite and attribute the work of others; obtain permissions where required.
• Disclose all funding sources and conflicts of interest.
• Ensure all listed authors meet authorship criteria and have approved the final manuscript.

Duties of Reviewers

• Provide objective, timely, and confidential evaluations as detailed in the Reviewer Guidelines.

Handling of Misconduct

Allegations of misconduct (plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, authorship disputes) are investigated following COPE flowcharts. Confirmed violations may result in manuscript rejection, retraction of published articles, notification of the author's institution, and a formal correction or retraction notice published in the journal.
