Generative AI Policy

Edusantri recognises the rapid development of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technologies and their impact on research and academic writing practices. The journal establishes the following policy with respect to the use of GenAI tools in the preparation of manuscripts:

Permitted Uses

GenAI tools may be used as auxiliary aids in manuscript preparation, including for language and grammar editing, improving readability and textual clarity, translation, paraphrasing, and drafting initial outlines that are subsequently developed substantially by the author. The use of GenAI for exploratory data analysis and visualisation is also permitted, provided that all outputs are critically verified by the author.

Prohibited Uses

GenAI tools may not be listed as authors or co-authors, as such tools cannot assume the legal and ethical responsibilities inherent in published authorship. The use of GenAI to automatically generate substantive content — including discussions, analyses, interpretations of research results, or conclusions — without significant intellectual engagement from a human author is not permitted. The use of GenAI in any manner that produces inaccurate, misleading, or fabricated content constitutes a serious violation of publication ethics.

Disclosure Obligation

Authors who have used GenAI tools in the writing or preparation of a manuscript must disclose this use transparently within the Methods section or in a dedicated statement at the end of the manuscript. The disclosure must specify the name of the tool used, its version, the purpose of its use, and the sections of the manuscript in which it was employed. Failure to disclose significant use of GenAI will be treated as a publication ethics violation.

This policy will be reviewed and updated periodically in line with technological developments and evolving global scientific community norms.
